The Makindye magistrate’s court has adjourned the case against Monitor Publications Managing Editor Daniel Kalinaki and Sunday Monitor editor Henry Ochieng to next month as the prosecution seeks the police file.
Makindye chief Magistrate Joyce Kavuma adjourned the case to the 29th of March for mention after the state prosecutor Marion Asiyo asked for more time to secure the file.
The editors are accused of forging a letter attributed to president Museveni on the settlement of the Banyoro and migrant Bakiga in the Bunyoro region.
In the letter, the President made many proposals to ease the tensions between the Banyoro and the Bakiga commonly known as the 'Bafuruki', including the 'ring fencing' the top political posts for the indigenous Banyoro.
The editors are also accused of making some alterations in the letter.
